Cascade Locks/Portland East KOA Campground Review

Cascade Locks/Portland East KOA Campground Review

Time for a campground review! What can I say about this beautiful place? It holds a special place in my heart. I first visited this campground when our kids were really little – our oldest was about six years old and our youngest was just over one. My sister and her kids met me and my kids in Colorado and we caravanned all the way up to their home on the Oregon Coast in a cute little seaside town called Lincoln City. When my husband and I decided we were going to start a family blog documenting our Rving, I knew I couldn’t wait to make this Oregon campground review one of our first posts.

Along the way, we stopped at a campground that soon became one of my very favorites I’ve ever been to; Cascade Locks/Portand Easy KOA. Cascade Locks is a city inside the county of Hood River County in Oregon. Boasting a population of only about 1,500 people, the first thing you might notice about this stunning little city is the breathtaking Colombia River that it sits on the banks of.

There is not much I love more than the woods of Oregon and to me, this campground is just about perfection. Ever since that trip I took with my sister, I’ve been dying to go back. And this past May, we did just that! The only difference was, the first time I went with my sister, we tent camped. This time – we took Mavis, our Thor Miramar Class A. There’s no doubt about it – I’m all about that RV lifestyle.

I mean, just look at the TREES!! Look how tall and glorious and luscious they are. This is one of the things I just adore about Oregon. Now, this KOA is a little more basic than some KOAs are, but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth visiting. Where it lacks in luxurious amenities, it makes up for in absolute beauty and tranquility. This campground is peaceful, quiet, and positively heavenly.

I just can’t say enough about those trees. Anyway, besides the captivating scenery, this little KOA features a playground that our kids found to be top-notch. Again, like the rest of the campground, there wasn’t anything flashy or over the top with the play set, but it got the job done and the kids spent hours there.

This KOA offers spaces for every type and level of camper. Whether you’re experienced, or brand new to RVing or camping, they’ve got a spot for you. You can bring your motorhome or camper van, fifth wheel, or even just pack up your car and stay at one of their rustic cabins. If you’re looking for the perfect little Oregon hideaway to enjoy the great outdoors, look no further than this sweet little Pacific Northwest gem.
